Some of the best world basketball prospects will join the NBA’s biggest stars in San Francisco during the All-Star Weekend for the Basketball Without Borders Global Camp, an event organized in conjunction between the NBA and FIBA which has seen many of today’s biggest world stars throughout the years. European teams are sending over a big contingent of young players to the other side of the Atlantic, both born in Europe or now playing for an European club. We give you a quick rundown of the seventeen players based in Europe who will be making the trip to San Francisco.

The Guards

🇷🇸 6’8 G Ognjen Srzentic | Mega MIS Belgrade

6’8 SG Ognjen Srzentic is a shooting guard with exceptional positional size and an excellent frame, which, combined with his fluid strides, allows him to maximize his physical advantages. He possesses elite scoring instincts and a natural ability to create his own shot off the dribble, consistently beating defenders with confidence and efficiency. Srzentic never hesitates to take his shot, excelling both in pull-up situations and when attacking the basket—particularly when driving to his right. His acceleration and change of direction make him a nightmare for defenders, as he can shift gears effortlessly to create separation. Beyond his scoring prowess, Srzentic also demonstrates strong playmaking ability, generating open looks for teammates at a solid rate. While primarily a scorer, he has shown the capacity to facilitate within the flow of the offense, keeping defenders off balance with his ability to both attack and distribute.

His performance at the NextGen Tournament in Istanbul underscored his elite offensive skill set, as he was named MVP after averaging 24.5 points per game on outstanding efficiency. He converted 60.9% of his two-point attempts (on 11.5 attempts per game) and shot 44% from three (on 6.2 attempts per game). Additionally, he contributed 7.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists (against 2.8 turnovers), 2 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game, showcasing his well-rounded impact on both ends of the floor. – Theo Anastasoudis

🇦🇷 6’6 G Felipe Minzer | Casademont Zaragoza

6’6 G Felipe Minzer is one the key perimeter prospects in the international 2007 generation. The Argentine playmaker profiles as an off-guard with plenty of on-ball playmaking ability, thriving especially in pick-and-roll sets, where his unique pace, good size, excellent court vision and ability to simply pull up over defenders make him a versatile threat. Still rounding out his athleticism, the main question mark with Minzer is how much of his slow, methodical playmaking will translate against faster, stronger, more athletic defenders, as he does tend to slow down the pace to a halt.

A household name now in international scouting circles, Minzer was the MVP of the U17 FIBA Southamerican Championship in 2023 before having a great 2024 summer, averaging 15.2 points and 10.4 rebounds playing a year up at the U18 FIBA Americas Championship and then putting up 17.4 points, 7.1 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game at the U17 FIBA World Cup. He was recently selected for the Adidas NextGen Team Munich, and is currently averaging 10.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and 3.8 assists for Casademont Zaragoza’s affiliate team in league play in Spain. – Rafael Zamorano

🇩🇪🇫🇷🇷🇸 6’5 G Mathieu Grujicic | FC Barcelona

6’5 G Mathieu Grujicic is a versatile wing with a great frame and mobility, making him difficult to stop in transition, which he seeks in every given opportunity. He runs the floor at every opportunity, maximizing his athleticism in fast-break situations. A good and stable shooter, Grujicic is effective both on and off the dribble behind the arc, taking shots at a decent volume while also displaying efficiency when driving to the basket. On the defensive end, he is tough and willing to take on every challenge, proving himself as a proficient defender with the potential to develop into a two-way player. His ability to make an impact on both ends of the floor makes him a key presence for his team.

At the NextGen Tournament qualifier in Ulm, Grujicic was named MVP and a member of the Best Five of the tournament, averaging 18.5 points per game on 53.6% shooting from two, 47.4% from three (on 4.5 attempts per game), and 77.3% from the free-throw line. He also contributed 2.5 rebounds, 2 assists (against 1.5 turnovers), and 2.2 steals per game, further showcasing his versatility on both ends of the court. – Theo Anastasoudis

🇪🇸 6’5 PG Guillermo del Pino | Coto Córdoba

6’5 PG Guillermo del Pino is a shifty, athletic guard with a strong command for the offense, a dynamic handle and a knack for creating his own shot off the dribble, especially from the midrange. He needs to continue getting stronger, as his thin build makes it more challenging for him to generate rim attempts and put pressure on the defense.

The MVP of the 2023 U16 FIBA European Championship, Del Pino left Unicaja Málaga’s system this past summer and moved to hometown club Coto Córdoba in the Spanish third division, where he’s averaging 8.6 points in 19 minutes per game against professional competition. Most recently, he participated in the Adidas NextGen Munich Qualifier, where he averaged 10.5 points and 3.5 assists per game as the team’s leading point guard. – Rafael Zamorano

🇱🇹 6’6 G Dovydas Buika | Zalgiris Kaunas

An habitual presence at major youth tournaments in Europe, Dovydas Buika has been one of the most consistent ball handlers of his generation for a few years. Measuring at 6’6, he can do a little bit of everything with the ball in his hands. Uses his size well to get inside and finish over his defender or using his body to shield his shot from rim protectors. Capable of creating in tight spaces, he’s a high-usage guard/wing who’s always looking for his shot. Capable of hitting from the perimeter, he will not hesitate to pull the trigger if there’s a little bit of space to do so. Has been evolving as a passer and although that’s not his strong suit and something he needs to keep developing, it’s clear that he has made some strides in that regard.

Was part of the Basketball Without Borders Europe roster last year and has already won an U16 Eurobasket in 2022, but it was at the recent NextGen Euroleague Qualifier, in Ulm, that he really stood out. The Zalgiris main man got his team as close as one can get to winning (one point loss in the final), in a tournament which he finished with 20.2 points and 4.1 assists per game, ending up as part of the All-Tournament Five. Has already made his senior debut in the Euroleague. – António Dias

🇲🇰 6’5 SG Nikola Janicic | Cooper Academy

One of the most under-the-radar players on this list, Janicic should surprise those who haven’t heard his name with his all-around offensive ability. With a developed body, he is a crafty on-ball creator with a ton of upside. Terrific shooter and driver, he forces the defense to pick their poison on pick and rolls, either stopping for quick pull up 3s or going all the way to the rim, where he can use his strong build and high IQ as a finisher. Capable passer, knows how to read plays and hit teammates in stride, providing patience and good decisions with the ball in his hands. Advanced defender both on and off the ball, he always looks years ahead of his peers on the basketball court with the way he anticipates plays and uses his body.

Guided North Macedonia to first place in last season’s FIBA Eurobasket – Division B, with 22.6 points (1st overall), 5.4 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game (7th overall). A constant presence at FIBA events, he has been one of the main names in North Macedonia’s recent tournaments and will be making his debut at a Basketball Without Borders camp in San Francisco. – António Dias

🇫🇷 6’2 PG Maxence Lemoine | SIG Strasbourg

6’2 PG Maxence Lemoine is one of the lead playmakers in the European 2007 generation. Slightly undersized at 6’2, the lefty G makes up for his average size with good explosiveness, some playmaking in pick-and-roll sets and great leaping ability, especially on jumpshots, where he’s able to be a consistent threat from beyond the arch and the midrange both off the catch and off the dribble. While he’s a good, shifty athlete, Lemoine still has to improve his paint finishing, as he tends to rush to the rim and hasn’t shown much in terms of craft or changing speeds and angles to find more finishing windows.

An All-Tournament Selection at the Adidas Next Generation Dubai Qualifier at this time last year, where he averaged 15.5 points and 5.2 assists per game, Lemoine followed that up with a solid 10.4 points and 3.6 assists per game for the France National Team at the U17 FIBA World Cup this past summer, including a 16 point outing against Team USA. He was slated to participate in the Adidas NextGeneration Istanbul Qualifier at the end of November 2024, but an unfortunate last-minute injury kept him out of the lineup. – Rafael Zamorano

🇧🇷 6’4 G Junior Kemm | Get Better Academy (GBA)

The shifty Junior Kemm is back from an unfortunate injury that sidelined him several months and looking close to his best self physically. A secondary ball-handler who will look to get to his spots around the free-throw line, Kemm knows how to play pick and rolls or attack quickly off the catch, getting a good-enough advantage with his dribble to force the defense to scramble. Hasn’t found his efficiency since coming back from injury but the development in the last year in terms of burst and ability to handle contact has been noticeable. More of a scoring guard, his passing potential is still to be fully unlocked but the flashes are there. Knows how to put defenders on his hip, calling the help and getting his big man an easy score.

After playing for Stellazzurra and Barcelona, the travelled youngster has found a home in the Czech Republic with the Get Better Academy. Part of last year’s BWB Americas, he was chosen to play for the NextGen Team who ended up winning last year’s Adidas Next Generation Tournament Qualifier in Paris and this year’s NextGen Euroleague Qualifier in Ulm, finishing fourth. – António Dias

The Forwards

🇫🇷 6’9 F Noa Kouakou-Heugue | INSEP

6’9 F Noa Kouakou-Heugue is a toolsy and athletic F who combines good strength, leaping ability, explosiveness and length with an excellent motor, contributing on the boards, off of cuts and in transition at a high level. His shooting and shot creation remain a work in progress, as Kouakou-Heugue’s jumpshot form looked a bit inconsistent in past outings and he’s shown an ability to drive but only in a straight line.

Currently attending the prestigious INSEP programme in France, where ten of the very best prospects for each generation get selected per year, Kouakou-Heugue has been a staple in both Adidas NextGen play and in FIBA tournaments. He averaged 6.6 points and 3.4 rebounds per game in last summer’s FIBA U17 World Cup for the France National Team and should be a key player for INSEP in the upcoming Adidas NextGen Belgrade Qualifier in March. – Rafael Zamorano

🇮🇹 6’9 F Maikcol Perez | Orange1 Bassano

6’9 F Maikcol Perez is well known for his combination of size, fluidity, and slashing ability, effectively attacking closeouts and using his strong upper body to finish aggressively at the rim. He can shoot from outside, though his slower form may limit some shot opportunities. Defensively, while capable on the perimeter, he can be prone to biting on fakes and losing focus off the ball. – Federico Gaibotti

In the 2024 FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup, Perez earned an All-Tournament Selection, putting up 14.6 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 4.3 assists to secure the Silver medal for his National Team. He proved his abilities at the Adidas Next Generation Tournament stage in Patras in 2023 with U18 Orange1 Bassano. Currently, Perez plays for the U19 Basket Bassano where his 16.1 points per game make him the leader of the squad.

🇮🇹 6’7 F Diego Garavaglia | Olimpia Milano

6’7 F Diego Garavaglia is a wing with standout defensive skills, versatility, and a high motor. His quickness, length, and game awareness make him a disruptive defender, while his improving long-range shooting adds to his offensive impact. Areas for improvement include shot consistency and handling under pressure.

He has competed at a high level, reaching three straight Italian youth national finals and earning silver medals at the 2023 U16 European Championship and 2024 U17 World Championship. He currently plays for U19 Milan and Oleggio Basket in Italy’s fourth division where he’s making consistent performances with 13.6 points in 25 minutes per game. He also posted solid numbers at the Adidas Next Generation Tournament, continuing to show growth against top competition even in international club tournaments. – Federico Gaibotti

The Bigs

🇱🇹 6’10 PF/C Arturas Butajevas | FC Barcelona

6’10 PF/C Arturas Butajevas is a prototypical hybrid offensive big man while remaining one of the most productive and well-drilled prospects in the European 2007 generation. Butajevas plays the 5 for Lithuania but is strictly a 4 in FC Barcelona’s system, and he’s able to score proficiently in both roles, using his size, footwork and touch for rim finishes and also being able to contribute in a spot-up role, where he has shown an excellent progression, with clean shooting mechanics, a compact release and an ability to attack a closeout and either drive to the rim or make a good pass out of the play.

Recently named MVP at the prestigious U18 Ciutat de L’Hospitalet Tournament, Butajevas is a widely accomplished player at the youth level, earning an All-Tournament Selection at the 2023 U16 FIBA European Championship averaging 15.6 points and 9.9 rebounds per game and then continuing his statistical dominance this past summer at the 2024 U17 FIBA World Cup, posting 14.4 points and 11.6 rebounds per game for the 5th-placed Lithuania National Team. – Theo Anastasoudis

🇮🇹 7’3 C Luigi Suigo | Olimpia Milano

7’3 C Luigi Suigo is a C prospect with elite size, rim protection, and intriguing shooting upside. His mobility and defensive presence make him a game-changer in the paint, but he needs to refine his post-up game and improve his physicality to handle high-level competition.

He earned All-Tournament honors at the 2024 U18 Torrent International Tournament, dominating the boards (14.5 RPG) and shot-blocking (2.75 BPG per 36). At the 2024 FIBA U17 World Cup, he impressed with his rebounding (2.1 ORPG) and touch around the rim. Currently, he’s seen as a high-major prospect with NBA lottery potential due to his rare 3&D skill set at his size. Currently, he plays in Oleggio Basket in Italy’s fourth division putting solid numbers with 10.2 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game. – Federico Gaibotti

🇫🇷 6’9 C Jahel Trefle | SIG Strasbourg

A mobile and athletic big man, 6’9 C Jahel Trefle thrives in transition, running the floor exceptionally well for his size. He is a reliable pick-and-roll finisher, diving quickly to the rim and displaying the ability to finish with both hands—even adjusting mid-air when necessary. While primarily a threat around the basket, he has also shown flashes of an expanding offensive arsenal, occasionally taking mid-range shots in short-roll situations to add variety to his scoring. Defensively, Trefle’s presence is equally significant. As a rim protector, he consistently challenges shot attempts from both guards and fellow bigs, anchoring his team’s interior defense. His instincts and timing allow him to alter shots effectively, making him a disruptive force in the paint. Additionally, Trefle asserts himself as a strong rebounder, securing second-chance opportunities for his team while limiting those of his opponents.

His performance at the NextGen Tournament in Istanbul earned him a spot in the Best Five of the tournament, a testament to his impact on both ends of the floor. He averaged 14.2 points per game on 50% shooting from two and 56.5% from the free-throw line, while also contributing 7.2 rebounds, 1.8 blocks, and 1.2 steals per game. His combination of mobility, finishing ability, and defensive prowess highlights his well-rounded skill set and continued development as a high-level prospect. – Theo Anastasoudis

🇱🇹 6’10 PF/C Dominykas Daubaris | Zalgiris Kaunas

Another player who has dealt with injuries in the past few months, Daubaris is looking to reach his full potential while his body tries to get back in full shape. An intriguing big, able to play the 4 or 5, he likes to create from the low post with an advanced game for his age. Capable of using his size and strength or going for more skilled approaches depending on the defender, he can get his shot off near the rim or find an open teammate if the defense collapses on him. Stretches the floor with his shooting and ability to put the ball on the floor and attack off the dribble, showcasing his mobility but still needing to know how to use his body in those instances and stay as balanced as possible. Knows how to make use of his size on the defensive end, playing physical inside and providing length to the defense, while also moving his feet well when asked to step outside.

Growing up in the Zalgiris talent factory, he has been playing more consistent minutes with the Zalgiris II team in the Lithuanian NKL. Helped Zalgiris get to the final both in Munich in 2023 and now in Ulm at the NextGen Euroleague and was also a big part of Lithuania’s 4th place effort in the 2023 U16 FIBA Eurobasket, which he finished with 7.0 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. – António Dias

🇳🇱 6’11 C Endurance Aiyamenkhue | ratiopharm Ulm

The long rim-running Endurance Aiyamenkhue is headed to San Francisco as one of the main bigs of his generation. A fierce rim protector with intriguing mobility, he makes it difficult to score near the rim at every level, making use of his wingspan and impressive blocking anticipation with a quick leaping ability. Has shown flashes of some switching ability and defense in space, with good hip flexibility that allows him to react and move quicker. Still a bit underdeveloped offensively, he’s mostly a screener and roller at this point, but making for a tremendous lob target. Solid base on screens and intentional rolls to get to the rim and beat his man. Great reads on offensive rebounds and some potential to develop a mid-range shot given his consistent evolution as a free-throw shooter. Still struggles a lot against physicality but has been developing at an impressive pace.

Part of the NextGen Euroleague All-Tournament Five in Ulm, he averaged a 16.0-point, 11.8-rebound double-double on 78% from the field, while also collecting 1.2 blocks per game. The Dutch youngster from Ulm’s Orange Academy stood out in last year’s U18 FIBA Eurobasket – Division B with 8.1 points and 1.9 blocks per game and will be travelling to San Francisco after being part of last year’s BWB Europe. – António Dias

6’10 stretch C Iván Prato became a household name for his poised way of playing and effective use of the glass, providing solid numbers on the boards as an interior presence, and most importantly adding an ability to space the floor with pull-up shots behind the arc. Despite his lack of aggressiveness in pick-and-roll situations, where he lacks elite vertical explosiveness and can be a bit shy in his offensive approach, this season Prato is showing increased confidence is being confident in his craft and is putting up high-level performances in U19 Italian Championship.

His combination of size and technical tools make him a cornerstone in Argentinian youth selections: he played several Americas Championship and twice played the U17 World Cup, last one in Istanbul in 2024.
